Lloyd Giles
Somewhere amidst Lloyd’s career as a pilot for Trans World Airlines and
his vacations to the North Woods of Wisconsin, he graduated from the School of
the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. While he has
worked in many art mediums, today he works predominately in oil. Lloyd’s
artwork reflects his varied interests in wildlife, landscape, aviation and astronomy.
Now a retired pilot, avid astronomer and year-round resident of Boulder Junction,
Wisconsin, Lloyd photographs the earth and sky, and paints in his studio amidst
the birch and pines of his home on Little Crooked Lake.
Lloyd accepts commission work and many of his paintings now hang in private
collections. His work has been exhibited at the Pine Tree Gallery in Ironwood,
Michigan, Moondeer & Friends Gallery in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin, and Parkside
Gallery in Minocqua, Wisconsin, as well as other galleries as far away as Michigan,
New Jersey, and California. Some of Lloyd’s works have been accepted into
and won awards in juried shows.
Lloyd is married to Judy Giles, a long-time library volunteer and is father
to four successful children, and grandfather of seven active grandchildren.
